Re: Henman slays 3 GS champs to win Paris Masters title

Funny so few discussions of 01

I can see why. Everytime I think of that I want to shove my balls in a blender and rip my hair out. Guess it's how t-doc felt when Murray won the USO

The worst was Basel 99, probably the first match I had ever watched in full outside Wimby. Henners went 2 sets down, mounted a beast come back to 2-2 and then collapsed in the tiebreak argghhhhh!!!
yeah v Karol Kucera, think he was up a break in 5th too

but he was no where near Masters Cup in 1999, he went into some awful slump after Wimbledon that year (some said coz his upcoming marriage)
remember somone said he was ordering flowers for the wedding the day he was to play 1st round US Open v Canas - match he lost in straight sets

Stefanki made him take pace off the serve so his 1st serve % went higher and it worked, 2002 was the year he made it to #4 for the first time, problem was he injured his shoulder v Srichaphan in Davis Cup and never really got a healthy shoulder again until that title in Paris then whole of 2004 - which went on to be his best ever year

I always keep going back to that video just to see the cheesy grin at 3:16 when he turns his head, pure Henman.

That tournament was something else, unshaven gentleman Tim rocking his way to the Roland Garros title...until he choked. He would've had a massive chance against Gaudio. Still makes me feel bad thinking about that Coria match.

Re: Henman slays 3 GS champs to win Paris Masters title

well he owned Gaudio, even on clay

was like 3 service holds from beating Coria in that Semi final

12 points from winning French Open 2004

Not about the volley though, he was silent after the shot, then Federer went into fistpumpmotion...and he couldn't hold it in anymore.

'ahhhh C'est bon bleudeblableutoettoet'

All about the fistpump baby, good thing he didn't continue acting like this and started becoming an emotionless, boring machine. Otherwise I might've been a Fedfan

Re: Henman slays 3 GS champs to win Paris Masters title

I remember watching Henmans last match vs Moya in 07 but I can't seem to find the match anywhere. Either on youtube or any torrentsites. Do any of you guys have that match perhaps?

Re: Henman slays 3 GS champs to win Paris Masters title

Actually that was his last win. His last match was a loss in the next round to Feliciano Lopez.

Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Feliciano Lopez, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Tim Henman, Fabrice Santoro, Marat Safin, Patrick Rafter, John McEnroe
