You know your fave is going to lose when...

I thought I'd start this thread as I think It could be funny and interesting. Your answers can be superstitions, things you really believe, jokes or whatever you want to put. Cheers.

So, I'll start it off.

I know my fave is going to lose when...

...he has three match points in a game but loses that game.

Re: You know your fave is going to lose when...

...the draw opens up.

...any commentator describes it as a winnable match for him.

...I have a lesser result go my way and I realise the luck will even out somewhere.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

true story. Sometimes with some players I swear I can just tell. It is easy to tell when Henman is going to lose.

I wish that were true, and sometimes it is, but if it was a rule then I would have suffered a lot less pain from him in the last few years. The number of times I have been kicked in the teeth by the gap between expectation and reality in a Henman match... mind you, I gain some schadenfreude from seeing our presumptuous and complacent commentators go through exactly the same process as they realise what's happening.

When Feña's game is completely off, he'll most likely lose no matter the opponent. So I will know quite early.

Re: You know your fave is going to lose when...

... when he says before the match that it will be "un beau match" (a beautiful match)

... when he (different player) is up two sets to love and a break in an important match
