Alex as commentator: first Janko, now F.Lo

Alex Corretja's working as commentator for Spanish TV along with another guy who usually does to work.
Today they broadcasted Ferrero vs Tipsarevic and they were talking about lots of stuff and suddenly the other commentator asked Alex if he knew Janko, Alex answered yes, and he was asked again how they met.
Alex explanation was that they met the first time in Roland Garros 2001; on a training day Alex asked his trainer (I think he said Duarte but I'm not sure) to bring someone to practice and later Duarte came back and told Alex he had asked a young guy to come with them, he said that some told him that guy would be really good in near future as he'd won Junior Australian Open that year... Alex confessed at the beginning he was shocked when a blond, tattooed young with piercings in his eyebrows, tongue and stomach (I guess Alex meant bellybutton) and asked his coach who that person was, a tennis player or a rockstar.
Later that year in Flushing Meadows Alex said one guy came to him to say hello and Alex was impressed because that guy had blue hair!!! The guy asked him if he remembered him, Alex answered no and the guy told who he was, Alex understood and started talking to him after telling him he remembered he was blonde before.

Alex was laughing when telling that story and said he was really surprised on how was the guy (Janko) was when being junior they practiced together. He also said that from time to time he asked about whatever happened to Janko, as he didn't heard news about him as tennis player until someone told him that apparently that young guy had lots of up and downs during his career at that point.

As commentator Alex was praising Janko's tennis, especially his serve... he said lots of compliments to Janko

Carlos, Tommy, Rafa, Feli, Nicolás, Marcel
Rainer, Radek, Benji Becker, Jarkko Nieminen, Melzer, Nalbandián, Tursunov, Starace, Djokovic, Youzhny

Is Alex actually in Melbourne calling the matches? If he is, I hope George knows!

Well you wouldn't understand a lot

Actually, what Deivid said before is really true I didn't know what to expect from Alex, great tennis players are crap as commentators... e.g. Arantxa Sánchez Vicario... she just can't stop talking about her and her years in the circuit, inventing matches and results Today she said Justine was an easy rival for Vivi... Hello, earth to ASV, that's not doubles
Anyway Alex explains everything, and knows Spaniards really well, now with F.Lo he was talking about his game: the versatility on serve, acceleration on forehand, etc.
Plus he can't be serious for long time, he usually said stupid jokes and comments

Carlos, Tommy, Rafa, Feli, Nicolás, Marcel
Rainer, Radek, Benji Becker, Jarkko Nieminen, Melzer, Nalbandián, Tursunov, Starace, Djokovic, Youzhny

Moltes gracies, propi!

Any video or audio of Alex commentating? What TV station is he commentating for in Spain?? TVE?

After hearing Rafter's interview last night, I'm dying to hear Alex too!

Re: When Alex met Janko: first impressions

LOL He's working for La2, the second channel of Spanish public TV, I don't know if you can get it outside this country
Another thing he said today... he said that F.Lo is one of Feli's nicks... I was shocked since the first time I read that nick was here in mentennisforums So, who knows, maybe our fine Alex (or someone who knows him) spies this little corner in the web from time to time

BTW RF88 Catalan is easy to understand when you're Spaniard but I don't speak any single word of it

Carlos, Tommy, Rafa, Feli, Nicolás, Marcel
Rainer, Radek, Benji Becker, Jarkko Nieminen, Melzer, Nalbandián, Tursunov, Starace, Djokovic, Youzhny
