No - not a surprise at all in my opinion. Murray is a good young player - but nowhere near as experienced or solid as Chela. He has very little Grand Slam experience, and certainly isn't used to the heat in Ausralia which is very different from the climate we have here in Britain. I read an interview with Murray in a newspaper here yesterday - he said he didn't want the hype and the pressure because he knew his career was only just beginning, and playing solid, higher-ranked players like Chela would not be easy for him. He looked a little overawed by the whole thing to be honest - and at his age - that's not surprising - many kids here are still at school at his age. I'm not a Murray fan at all, but I just hope the media here accept things and don't crucify the lad for one defeat.

Supporting Djoković, Tipsarević, Soderling, Tursunov, Youzhny, Cilić and quite a few more

The soreline reads to me that Murray hasn't put up a decent fight at all. Its such a blow.maybe too much expectation from this guy. He's young after all. He gotta learn a lot.I hope the local media wont be too harsh for him too.

I'm not surprised to see him lose, only shocked at the scoreline Andy must have never got going.

Re: Juan Ignacio Chela def. Andy Murry 6-1 6-3 6-3

I saw the last couple of games of the match and Andy was very defensive. His returns were weak but he was trying. Andy gave out a big scream towards the end, he was frustrated but trying.

hope he just got overplayed. Chela is a sticky player. Sure thing that he played better than Andy today.but Andy will learn.
