I watched the match live Haas should've have won he was 40-0 to go 5-3 up. Canas held his nerve better and played some unbelievable shots one of them that sticks out in my mind is an inside out running forehand he played to get it to deuce on Haas's 40-0 game from there Haas was rattled. Congrats Canas

If Roddick wins....(C'mon Novak!!) Canas better win !!

Wow, what a tight match! Congrats to Guillermo. He's been so impressive this year on all the surfaces. I feel bad for Haas, it looked like he was in full control in the 3rd. Losing his serve at 4:3 and 40:0 turned out very costly for him. But overall the match was very tight in the tiebreak as well, could have gone in either's way.

Go Novak tonight!

i am completely impressed with the new Canas. only found out today that gorgeous Hernan Gumy is his new coach. what a terrific partnership. congrats to Canas. show 'em baby!!!!

(all the best to Jiri later. i don't want to see RodPrick go any further )

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Yes, hopefully Canas will win it all now.

It is a shame when a player has a week like this then loses to someone not half as good as their semi opponent.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

here he is in 2000. he is the hunk on the left. the pix doesn't do him justice. i'll hunt down another. guaranteed to raise your BP!

caption for above photo:
After posting a tough second round win over Chilean Nicolas Massu, Hernan Gumy (left) cheered on fellow Argentinean Martin Rodriguez at the 2000 Kroger-St. Jude tournament in Memphis. Pablo Albano (right), a doubles semifinalist in Memphis, and another friend (middle) joined Gumy in the stands.

Early one morning at the U.S. Open, Argentina's Hernan Gumy practiced his serve. In this fabulous photo, everything is in motion. His ponytail whips to the side, his necklace bounces toward heaven, and his right arm completes his follow-through. It's his neck, though, that makes this photo stand out. His sternocleidomastoid (the front one) and the scalene muscles are flexed and easily differentiated. A viewer can visually palpate his neck muscles. (rowz)

by the way, Gaston Gaudio is his best friend.

Now I know why you really like men's tennis, TC!

And Becca, being in the final will create a tremendous amount of pressure for Canas! How will he handle it? Only time will tell! But if has the face Roddick, he will feel even more pressure! That's for sure!

If Roddick loses tonight, I'll I'll I'll do something!

What a great week for Canas! He has proven he isn't a fluke. But is he ready for the big time?

Egalite!
