Kiefer pulls out of Hopman sending Netherlands into the final

Nicolas pulled out because of back spasms, according to the Hopman Cup site and this article.

Netherlands will play the US in the final if the US beat Sweden later today.

Is the injury serious? Will he get to play the Aussie? Back spasms are just a minor thing correct?

he writes on his homepage that he actually wanted to play, but since alg lost and they had to win 3:0, he didn't want to take any risks.

Re: Kiefer pulls out of Hopman sending Netherlands into the final

It doesn't sound serious, but it's again the same shit situation like last season when he was already knocked on in Adelaide, then couldn't play Sydney in the following, and then cought a cold at Melbournce which meant he had no serious match experience under his belt for the Australian Open which is again the same this year I thought this year he can play two relaxed tourneys before the Australian Open, but times never change, do they?

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

He really was. Germany could have won the cup the way he was playing. Except of course, Ana wasn't doing good at all...
