I have a policy of getting to like players when they are young and up-and-coming, and following their progress up the rankings. The last 6 years or so my main 3 have been Roddick, Nadal, and Murray. All 3 I started liking when they were outside the top 100 (but it was pretty clear they had potential) but once each player becomes too successful, my interest fades slightly. Although I will always have a soft spot for each, every victory means less than it used to because they are a lot more frequent (maybe not for Murray yet). Therefore, I am looking for a new player to like in 2006, and your suggestions would be much appreciated, as I am struggling. They must fit the following criteria though.......
- They must be ranked outside the top 100, and not won anything of note
- They must be under the age of 21
- They must be charismatic
- They must be passionate when they play
My knowledge of the future/challenger circuit isn't what it used to be and I haven't found anyone of note. Sergei Bubka jr is one guy I quite like the look of, but I don't think he's charismatic enough to be an absolute favourite of mine. All suggestions welcome, muchos gracias
