Ljubicic's Grand Slam / big match - problematic.
Grand Slam Record:
Losses:16(9 1st Round)
(When it most counts)
The Croatian is sporting a 7-16 record in Grand Slams, being ousted 9 of those 16 in the first round and only advancing beyond the 2nd round on 3 of those occasions, so it is 13 times that Ljubicic has failed to see even the 3rd round of a Slam. He obviously has problems when it comes to facing players on the big stage, endurance issues and let's have a look at the amazing talents he's fallen to. This is the record of an overachiever, cleary, he may be Davis Cup hero ( a title stolen from him by Dominik Hrbaty ), but certainly not his own.
He must live by the saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country", as the Croatian has been generous and successful when confined to Davis Cup play and simply anemic outside of it.
I am rather curious to know, what is it that seems to haunt him ? Why is he failing at Slams and Finals that count against worthy opposition ?
