Ljubo's health

from the post match interview:

his neck was stiff and in pain. at noon he had to make the decision whether or not to play and he believed that he deserved the chance. his stomache started to hurt because of the pain medication he took and he went to the bathroom to throw up after the second set. he had a lot of problems on his second serve because his ball toss is right about his head, thereby causing him additional neck pain

Re: Ljubo's health

Gosh, so this was the reason he left the court after the 2nd set. Poor Ivan.

Re: Ljubo's health

I am glad he was able to play and that Croatia won - Ivan was definately the star of the whole year for them Now he needs to rest, relax and enjoy some time off with his family so that he can have a great 2006.

Re: Ljubo's health

Ljubo has played a lot of tennis and been in several long five setters since the indoor season began. I kinda thought they'd play Ancic first but what do I know?
I hope Ljubo rests and comes back strong in 2006.

Re: Ljubo's health

his neck got stiff in the mourning
goran said he has never played with that injury and he didn´t believe that ivan was going to play
we in croatia didn´t know about this till after the match
he got sick of all pain killers
