About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

Is it just me, or the 2004 Wimbledon movie has some similarities with Andre Agassi's tennis resurgence and finding the love of his life a fellow tennis player there at the 1999 French Open.

that movie was funny.

the chair umpire saying "quiet please" every 5 sec was hilarious

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

I thought of Sharapova and JCF when I saw the movie but I don't think those two were an item when the movie was made.

It had been a long time since I saw such a good comedy

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

Sorry I can't think about this movie without mentioning that the men's semi-final match (containing a BRITISH player) was played on Court 2, Colt only had to play 6 matches to win the tournament (3 to make the quarters) and if the Centre Court truly was as full of water as they made out it would have taken a few weeks to get it dry!!

Saying that, I have nothing against it, great film!!

that movie and Andre Agassi are both as useless as one another.

I ordered the DVD yesterday cause I want to see that movie. Critics are not good but I think when you are fan of tennis, it should be ok.

Hardly. A lot of sports movies seem to follow that vapid plot-line.

Well some of the graphics are very poor and there are lots of mistakes like the ones Andymonium mentioned, but if you're looking for a relaxing, pleasant film with a happy ending, then I think you'll enjoy it. I actually resisted it for ages because of all the bad reviews, but it happened to be on TV when I was in Sweden recently - and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

I personally liked it.

Most of the actors though are not very convincing tennis players. Did you guys see how Kirsten Dunst served? The lead actor was pretty okay but his opponent during the final... looked awkward to say the least.

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

I was expecting the worst from this movie and it actually wasn't as bad as I had thought. There were lots of mistakes and awkwardness, but for those who are not tennis fans or know little about tennis, its a cute love story.

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

It was a cute movie, but some tennis fans took it wayyyy too seriously.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Re: About the Wimbledon movie (2004)

It was a pretty entertaining movie, if you are willing to "suspend disbelief" as they say. The main actor kind of looked like Schuettler to me.
