2006 Doubles Partnerships

OK I saw in a different thread that Nenad [Zimonjic] and Leander will split and that Nenad will partner Fabrice Santoro (now partnering Llodra). Paes will play with Damm.

What other new partnerships will there be? What partnerships will remain the same in 2006?

So..:

Nenad Zimonjic SCG & Fabrice Santoro FRA
Leander Paes IND & Martin Damm CZE
Bob Bryan USA & Mike Bryan USA
Mariusz Fyrstenberg POL & Marcin Matkowski POL

Really?? Seems unusual, considering Wes is predominantly singles... Is Stevie playing with someone else, or taking a little time out?

Bhupathi/Damm was a temporary partnership (July-November 2005) formed after Woodbridge decided to retire. Bhupathi asked Moodie to be his regular partner for 2006 & Moodie agreed. (Bhupathi made the announcement at the U.S. Open at his mixed doubles champions press conference.)

Llodra wants to concentrate on singles in 2006. His singles ranking fell outside the top 100 this year so he couldn't get into a lot of tournaments directly (& often missed qualifying tournaments because of doubles semifinals/finals).

I understand that, but it doesn't explain why Wes...? Which is what I asked.

I am not sure also about Knowles/Nestor, not a great year for them - USO 1st round loss, and whitewashed here at TMC... Hmmm..

Re: 2006 Doubles Partnerships

It will be a shame that the teams forming the TMC final are both going to split next year I think it's good for Llodra to focus on singles because he has lots of talent. Good luck to all in 2006

Daddy Djokovic 2016

RIP Nadull and Fraud's careers.

Yeah, but Daniel's been heavily injured. I think they'll play together and they will be good again

On one hand I'm quite sad that it hasn't been a good year for them, but on the other hand I'm happy that a year when they won 2 TMS shields, 2 other titles, and qualified for TMC is considered a bad year.

...And Dan surpassed the $5 million prize money mark.

Re: 2006 Doubles Partnerships

I guess Ehrlich and Ram will remain as a team. I see them here in Canada every year and look how exciting their matches were in Montreal this year:

Montreal, Canada
Tennis Masters Series, 8-Aug-05, O, Hard , Draw: 24, Partner: Jonathan Erlich (ISR )

R32 Huss, Stephen (AUS )/Moodie, Wesley (RSA ) 7-6(2) 2-6 7-6(4)
R16 Paes, Leander (IND )/Zimonjic, Nenad (SCG ) 2-6 6-3 7-6(3)
Q Knowles, Mark (BAH )/Nestor, Daniel (CAN ) 4-6 7-6(10) 7-6(4)
S Bryan, Bob (USA )/Bryan, Mike (USA ) 7-6(4) 6-7(4) 6-4
F Black, Wayne (ZIM )/Ullyett, Kevin (ZIM ) 7-6(5) 3-6 6

Imagine if they qualified for Shanghai!
