Berdych - 2006 runner-up Wimbledon threat ?

His results thus far are as follows:
Wimbledon, England
Grand Slam, 20-Jun-05, O, Grass , Draw: 128
R128 Dupuis, Antony (FRA ) 96 7-6(5) 7-5 3-6 7-6(4)
R64 Burgsmuller, Lars (GER ) 102 6-3 6-3 6-1
R32 Dent, Taylor (USA ) 29 3-6 6-7(5) 3-6

Now, the question is: What would stop Berdych from being a success on grass ? Nothing, he seems to have a game which is friendly to every surface excluding clay of course and even on clay, he has taken a set from Nadal earlier this season.

The areas he could improve:
His first serve % must increase, when he gets it in it's amazing what he's able to do with that 1-2 punch combination, out-wide and boom, attack with the forehand.

The rest of his game is steady and what makes him tailormade for grass of course, he hits the ball so flat. Roger gave him quite the spanking beating him 1&2 the last time they matched up, but I think that if Tomas is mentally sound and works on his serve, improves his volleys (a lot) that he could cause a disturbance louder than Maria Sharapova's grunts at 2006 Wimbledon, we shall see.

This kid is quite the prodigy, what a game, maybe he can dethrone Roddick from his permanent spot as 2nd best grass player in the world. Um, who knows, maybe even give Roger some competition.

Input?

Well, a threat to come in 2nd place. Maybe I should change the subject of this thread.

There are other Slams besides Wimbledon, that is the one where he will struggle the most, he will be like Safin and Ljubo when it comes to grass.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

nah. You're always going to be ahead of him at Miss Universe. He might win Miss Congeniality.

Hmmm...so there are other people thinking what I'm thinking? Berdych resembles a bit with Safin!

Goooo SAFIN ~ BERDYCH ~ MURRAY ~ SIMON ~ NALBANDIAN ~ SODERLING

Safin is resigned to failure on grass, he's taken a set off Roger in Halle and that is his "weakest surface" --- sounds like he's beaten himself by having such a negative approach and Ljubo struggles when it comes to any Grand Slam, excluding 2003 U.S Open ... I didn't know if the guy withdrew because of injury or just didn't show up he was ousted so early.

Berdych may be different, if he will work on volleying skills and harbor more disciplined-aggression.

I would like to point out that I get to drive the Bandwagon. Because me and Tomalita have the same birthday.

Yes, the cargo stock has been repainted and ready to go and you want to drive the wagon, sure it's done.
