And this is a strong era? The strong era was 2007-2012, this is a pretty crappy era and Nole isn't dealing with a true upcoming talent yet. At his age Fed was facing the biggest mental giant this sport ever saw roaring up to fame with Nole close behind.

Honestly, if Nole doesn't win 5 of the next 6 slams it's a failure because the field is so very weak these days.

"Streakenderer stops Nole streak of winning every BO3 F since Cincy 2012"

Is Indian Wells not a BO3 final? Is the WTF not a BO3 final?

Yes im frustrated, it was obvious who was the better TENNIS PLAYER out there..
Djokovic was in a semi-depressed state? in every set he worked himself up to BP and a nice lead.. Federer lucked out with some aces.. just one of those days.. set 2 same scenario, whilst Fed 2/2 bp..

It just feels like those movies with a bad ending, where the villain actually lives/wins.. you just cant get over it..
Another anology is Titanic ending, where Leo D Caprio was forced to drown to save that ugly cow he was in love with.

Cant wait for RG/W/USO.

So Fed gets a bye to the finals? What about the people Federer had to beat en route?

Djokovic hadn't lost a BO3 final since Cincinnati 2012, the only finals he lost were Grand Slam ones. So Federer ended that streak that started since Cincinnati by beating him in a BO3 final.

Are you suffering from reading comprehension impairment? Djokovic won every BO3 final he appeared in between Cincy '12 and Dubai '15, hence a two-and-a-half years long streak was broken today.

Fed's groundstrokes never were that good to begin with. And he's still moving fine.

Not comparable -> different gamestyles.

We're talking about a guy who is 33...that is still very young. Tennis isn't chess. Tennis is about the right tactic and that comes with experience.

The only valid point you made was about the longer recovery time...which is mainly about off-court work but comes into play at longer matches e.g. Slam tournaments. Certainly not here in Dubai.

Nadal - Dimitrov - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Carreno Busta - Chardy - Cuevas

Re: Dubai [F]: Federer def. Djokovic 6-3 7-5

These people who hate Roger are just jealous at Roger's precision and variety on his serve. The fact that he can produce those on big points against a quality returner like Novak exposes how great Roger's precision and talent is on that serve. A servebot is usually like 6'7" and just bangs down huge pace and yet Nole still returns them well because of the weaker placement. Roger just takes it out of his racquet with the precision and disguise. He is not hit 145mph! Lastly, if Nole is supposedly so great, then why is he SIMPLY UNABLE to serve at that level? Shouldn't he be able to slam down serve placed on a dime?
