I'm smelling roasted duck... we cookin' soon?

I think someone has already started the stew... perhaps getting ready for the Duck's match against Ancic? I smell an embarrassing upset.

Re: I'm smelling roasted duck... we cookin' soon?

I find it inadvisable ever to predict that the guy across the net from Ancic will be the one suffering an embarrassing loss.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

No roasted duck yet, Roddick will get this one. He needs it.

If you're trying to compete with Rebecca and her notorious thread, surely you don't think you will succeed

Andy will do fine.

And if he doesn't, his fans (me included) will still love him. Andy doesn't have to win in order for us to like him.

So what's your point???

Sometimes I think that these tennis metaphors are getting a little out of hand.

Well, I don't think she is, but I can't speak for her. I can, however, speak for myself, and I am not a teenage girl and I will still be a fan of Andy whether he wins or loses tomorrow.

Your point?

It's never wise to count your ducks before they hatch.

This being said Andy will win this match.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
