To be honest nothing really uncommon but it's efficient!
He voluntarly only played on the French circuit for a long time and studied (STAPS) etc...I read that in yesterday's L'Equipe. He wants to test himself now on the ATP tour.
But really, without insulting the talent Gicquel could have, i think that's another one of these "training matches" like for Ljubicic against Spadea, Ferrer against him, Gaudio against Monfils, etc...in this Lyon tournament which is becoming a joke...
