Well wearing his usual attire would have been rather uncomfortable since he had to wear supports for both knees................what do you think

No, he was wearing the piratas in Beijing. Hope they’ll be back soon. Someone on vr.com said that his mom was to bring them from Mallorca but thought he’d already taken them and so she left them at home. The vr.com people are amazing, they have every little bit of information on him!

He said he wasn't going to wear the capris for the reason of the season... just regular shorts.

As a Nadal fan, I hope he keeps wearing regular shorts. Not that I mind the 3/4s but because all of the jackhole sports announcers here in the land where it is still considred fun to sneer about something as being "girly" will continue to make assy comments about his attire as long as he is wearing the 3/4s without ever focusing on him as a player.

Ahh...frat boy humor- still alive well and good here in the sportscasting field in the good old US of A.

He says that the piratas will be back in the Australian Open but he wanted to play in shorts for a while.

Quote:
For the final three tournaments of the year, here, in Paris and at the Masters Cup in Shanghai, the “pirata” three-quarter length trousers have been left in the cupboard. In discussions with Nike, his clothing sponsor, Nadal proposed that he tried more normal shorts for a while. “I just wanted to see how the shorts felt again, I like them,” he said. “Just a change, nothing permanent. The piratas will be back in Australia (for the Australian Open in January).”
