What a display of drool inducing shotmaking from one of the most talented players on tour

How on earth did Machado lost in straights to a player who just lost to a fatso, in the very next day??

Re: CH Casablanca SF: (WC) Ouahab def. (Q) Rufin 3-6 6-2 6-1

Rufin was basically exhausted.

3 / 2015 Casablanca Challenger
SF Clay Guillaume Rufin Lamine Ouahab Upcoming H2H
QF Clay Guillaume Rufin Rui Machado 7-5 6-1 H2H
R16 Clay Guillaume Rufin Albert Montanes 6-3 7-5 H2H
R32 Clay Guillaume Rufin Amine Ahouda 6-4 6-1 H2H
QF Clay Guillaume Rufin Wesley Koolhof 6-1 6-2 H2H
QSF Clay Guillaume Rufin Jordan Ubiergo 6-1 6-1 H2H

He had to qualify for this muddy claycourt tournament and didn't have the will to go any further. Ouahab wanted it more, he knew he had a claycourt grinder tomorrow and just could not be dealing with it.

51 / 2014 Qatar F6 Futures
SF Hard James Marsalek Guillaume Rufin 4-6 6-2 6-3 H2H
QF Hard Guillaume Rufin Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-3 7-5 H2H
R16 Hard Guillaume Rufin Toby Martin 7-5 6-0 H2H
R32 Hard Guillaume Rufin Sander Arends 6-4 6-3 H2H

He also tanked this match in bold, which I watched, bet and laughed on. He is probably the most blatant tanking machine in tennis, closely rivalled by Sizzling.

It's a shame for tennis to allow a player with Lamine fitness to reach the final of the 2nd division of tennis.

Calling Sijsling a tanker, no words

How much did you lose?

Fading Rufin against Marselek in December? I made around £700. Backing Rufin here in set 3, against Ouahab, today, made a loss of £1000. Though won around 600 on him to win set 1, after I saw he thought it'd be exciting to give Ouahab a head-start.

Not really a big deal, as I haven't added in yesterday's significant win on Machado's easy to predict melt-down.

Never-the-less, it's still worth calling a spade a spade and that was a tank Chris. You don't need a degree in body language for sensing that shit bro.

Why would a low ranked qualifier tank a SF after winning the first set?

You're a troll man, you're actually a troll. You're fucking good though.

We call these people 'wind-up merchants' in London. They wind people up.

He didn't flat out tank the third from the off but intensity wasn't there. You'd expect him to refocus and try and come out energised at the start of the set but he didn't really, just listlessly swinging at balls, no real conviction. Remember he tanked return game at 30-0 at 1-1. After he was broken and failed to break back (1-4) he pretty much completely gave up and tanked the end.

Could be that he was massively fatigued, although this would suggest his conditioning is a joke. Something very off with performance, maybe a mixture of fatigue and Frenchness.

But given it was a challenger semi and first of season you'd certainly expect more from him, the will to win just wasn't there.

Cheers mate.

What many on here don't realise is tennis players get one month off season and they play around 25 tournaments a year, the lower ranked ones, more. They have to accommodate, prioritise and manage their body in an efficient and sensible way. You may be passionate about a claycourt match in a town lost far away in the middle-of-nowhere, but they aren't.

In addition to this Rufin has only recently returned from injury. I doubt he's fit enough for 6 matches in 6 days. 6 consecutive days. He may look slender, but it doesn't suggest he's fit. That would be a superficial observation.
