Safin pull out of Kremlin Cup and Madrid AMS

From his official website:

02.10.05 There is good news and bad news - depending on how you look at it.
The good news is the knee injury is progressing well - the bad news is that it has been decided that Marat will not play until the St. Petersburg Open followed by Bercy and then Shanghai Masters Cup. Ths will give him some practice before the end of the season to test out the knee and then he will start the new season of 2006 fully fit. At this stage it has not been confirmed which tournament he will start with in 2006 but it is anticipated he will start with a regular tournament rather than an exhibition match.

A post that deserves to be on MTF Hall of Fame soon:

Marat I miss him, I hope he is recovering, and that this will ignite some fire in him to play well when he comes back. Thanks for the update

i doubt he will be back for rest of the year. it might be best for him just to take rest of the year off and get ready for 2006.

Re: Safin pull out of Kremlin Cup and Madrid AMS

This is no good for Marat, but he should do everything he can to make sure he does not come back to soon and put him further behind in his physical health. He might need to take the rest of 2005 off and be fit and ready for 2006.

Can you tell me how it feels to be hated?
Can you tell me how it feels to be loved?
Can you tell me how it feels to be respected?
Or is the answer none of the above

With Marat missing the indoor carpet season, Fed's chances of winning 13/14 titles this season seems more of a possibility.

I don't remember the reason, but he was booed during the tournament and in fact in the final the crowd supported Nalbandian.

I was just being ironic about Safin's gift for being booed wherever he goes . I remember this year when he got booed in Barcelona , also in Rome if i'm not wrong....

Re: Safin pull out of Kremlin Cup and Madrid AMS

Will Marat ever return to play tennis this year? Every time he's supposed to play a tourney, his return is delayed... he s have recuperated fully instead of playing Cincy... he could have been playing now.

Marat booed? I'm not aware of it unless he does sth to provoke it, like smash his racquet altho when he does that he doesn't usually get booed... people like it! If he gets booed, he knows he deserves it and looks sheepish.

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

"He's so charismatic." - Marcos Baghdatis
