Federer def Nieminen 6-3 6-4

Roger! Clinical display, although his net game was suspect at times. Has he secured his end-of-year #1 spot yet?

The loudest the crowd cheered during his post-match interview was when Roger said that he would prefer to play Paradorn in the final.

30 victories in a row, he beats Sampras record...

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."

He has already done it, Sampras' best streak was 29 wins from 1994. Though, if we ignore World Team Cup, it was actually 31 wins.
