Smile Sorry to start another Federer thread..:p

....but I just wanted to point your attention to the fact that Roger is on his longest ever winning streak. Ever since losing to Rafa at Roland Garros, Federer has won 28 consecutive wins. Victory over Gilles Muller will put Roger equal with Sampras' longest streak of 29 matches won, set in 1994.

Here are some winning streak records!

There were 5 players who won 30+ consecutive matches in the open era.

OPEN ERA WINNING STREAKS

1. Bjorn Borg 49 (1978)
2. Guillermo Vilas 46 (1977)
3. Ivan Lendl 44 (1981-82)
4. John McEnroe 42 (1984)
5. Bjorn Borg 40 (1979-80)
6. Thomas Muster 35 (1995)
7. Roger Federer 31 and counting (2005)

WINNING STREAKS SINCE 1990

1. Thomas Muster 35 (1995)
2. Roger Federer 31 and counting (2005)
3. Pete Sampras 29 (1994)
4. Andre Agassi 26 (1995)
Roger Federer 26 (2004-5)
6. Jim Courier 25 (1992)
Roger Federer 25 (2005)
8. Pete Sampras 24 (1999)
Rafael Nadal 24 (2005)
9. Roger Federer 23 (2004)

17 (yes, yes, yes!) Slams! And counting....

Re: Sorry to start another Federer thread..:p

Are you sure it's not Vilas who has the record with 50, ended by Nastase with the spaghetti strings ?
That's what says the hall of fame....

I think Borg had a few WO in the process of hi streak, maybe that's why...
I've never been able to find the answer on this BTW
Roger, get this record to clarify things !!

"I asked a bloke in the front row if he liked the serve-and-volley stuff," said Rafter. "He said he did but asked if he was going to get to see any rallies. 'Not today, mate,' I told him."

just worked it out, hes won 6 straight hard titles, 35 matchs, 37 including his wins at bangkok so far, if he wins bang, then it will 40 straight matchs, 7 straight titles, now that would be impressive.
