Re: Volandri def. Massu 6-3 6-0

Excellent result from Volandri - he really is a strange player............... he gets some good results like this and seems to be heading for great things - and then kind of slips away into insignificance again He always seems to save his best for playing in front of the Italian crowd though. I'm sorry for Nico though - 6-0

Dig up the "Nico will win US Open" thread and you'll see them.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Permit me to shed some light upon why the Golden Boy is so adored:
Tennis Songs That Should Be Released

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

I can't stand why people is soo mean why Nicolas..
If you don't like him just ignore him but of course people have to say bad things about him!
I'm a massu fan and I've never say bad thing to a player! EVER! so i cant understand why people is soo freaking mean!

Re: Volandri def. Massu 6-3 6-0

I was probably no. 1 Massu hater on the board last year when his entry to the Top 10 was imminent but forever being delayed for one reason or another. But I don't think I dislike him as much nowadays, if only because he's returned to the pack and has had to suffer through various injury problems. Hey, I was even rooting for him against Coria at the US Open - but then, the list of people I will support when playing Coria is growing ever longer with each tournament.
