hey, thanks everybody for posting!!!
Apart from my pure article (however i still think it's quite funny) i have more memories...
~~ Sopot 2004: Rafael Nadal wasn't too much known then and he took his first tournament's victory in Sopot. Even though I'm not really into Spaniards, it was me who first saw him so I called to my friend: "Kaassiiaaaa isn't it Nadaaaaaal?" Instead of Kasia's response I heard the voice of a security guy: "Shut the f****g up or I'll close you in a toilet". But yes it was Nadal, I came up to him even though he was starting his sparring and said: "Rafa, come here and smile". He smiled. I still have this pic (it's in http://nathaliia.myphotoalbum.com
=> Sopot 2004). He trained with Galo Blanco (I think...) and he lost so as a punishment he had to crawl along the court.
~~ Wrocław 2005: Michael Ryderstedt (SWE) and Frederick Sundsten (NOR) were about to have a practise session just before their match against Kunitsyn / Schukin (both RUS). The Russians took their court and the Nordic guys were just standing up from the table, when I entered the AZS Hall and came up to say "hi" to their coach and them as well. I took my seat and they... took their seats again as well! They didn't go! We started talking a bit... When the match started, "my guys" weren't completely warmed up and lost games which affected the final result. "I see his hunger for the game!" - the coach complained. - "If I ever in future hear he's hungry for game I'll give him such a strong kick that he'll land straight on the court with his racquet!".
~~ Sopot 2005: Gael Monfils was playing rugby in the street. He almost killed my friend Effka. Remi Barbarin saved her life, catching the ball 5 cm before her head.
~~ Sopot 2005: Puerta, Mónaco, Artoni and their coaches were playing football on the court. I entered the court, sat on the bench of players and asked Mónaco for a pic (it's in my photoalbum as well). Everybody looked thrilled when I came there (if my camera's not a bomb or whatever!).
~~ Sopot 2005: Gael Monfils was playing a friendly against Garcia-Lopez. I was the only one supporting Gael. He was so happy
but he lost... but he won the whole tourney and GGL lost in the 1st round!
~~ Sopot 2005: That's how I got known Tommy Vanhoudt... They were playing a doubles training... as three people: Tommy, Tomas Cibulec and Robert Lindstedt. Two against the one. At first, Lindstedt was the one without the partner. We were clapping whenever he played a good ball. /Kasia and I must have been really bored when we came to such "event"... but I wanted to ask Lindstedt if he knew Mr Pawel Strauss, that person who was with Ryderstedt in Wrocław/ Then Cibulec was the "lonely guy". We were clapping as well. When it was Tommy's time to be alone, my mother called to say Gaudio had withdrawn but he's still in Sopot. A while later my grandpa called to ask when I was going with them to the lake and if I already collected some worms for fish. Kasia was laughing at me, Tommy got no support. He was angry, even threw the racquet. In the end, we asked them for the pictures and Tommy said he didn't want to have a pic with me because I was bad. I said sorry and promised I'd go to his match to support him, then he agreed. In fact, I saw only 3 games of his match and I left for Mónaco - Monfils (he reproached me about it even in Szczecin
), and later... geez, even worse things happened
~~ Sopot 2005: Polish tragic junior players took the all courts. Chucho Acasuso appeared and saw nothing was free for him. He started to train near the grill, with the hitting wall. I had quite fun! Another time Chucho Acasuso was training in a normal court. My friend Effka was calling his footfaults. Chucho didn't agree: "Que??!!!"
~~ Sopot 2005: I attended Mariusz Fyrstenberg's brother's training (completely amateur player) with the one so-called professional Polish player (Frytka's bro was better anyway...). Built up, I went to see Frytka and Matka practising together. I started shouting (for fun) "Frytkaaaaaa serveeee an aaacceeeee!!!!!!" I didn't see that Monfils' coaches are on the next court (practising without Gael) and they are ROTFL'ing at me.
~~ Szczecin 2005: I was filmed by Chela during his practise. I was following his every step because I still was having some silly questions to him plus I was taking notes from his practise sessions. That time his coaches were pretending they're having a practise and Chela was filming them. In one moment he started to tape me (the only person there), taking the notes, sitting in the stands and looking generally stupid.
