Gaudio should play European indoors next year and not South America

I think he should follow Coria and Nadal's lead and play the European indoor season next year, I believe that to rise higher in the rankings and improve himself as a player, he should go and play the indoors, as that's why Rafa and Coria have become really top class players, because they have looked to improve on other surfaces.

One of the clay TMS should go to Buenos Aires too, so South America gets recognition and the home players can play it.

Re: Gaudio should play European indoors next year and not South America

Why do you care joey? Considering the South American events are still small events except for Acapulco an ISG event and unlike the indoor events in Europe, they don't go around offering huge guarantees. If more of the top South Americans don't play then they'll become challengers, and it took a while to get Buenos Aires back on the circuit.

Actually it might be that Nadal and Coria are just better players anyway.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Yes, get even less top players playing fledgling events in a region that doesn't see much top class tennis.

That's why I suggested a Buenos Aires TMS.

One tournament in the region throw the calendar out of whack, when the whole calendar needs adjusting. The facilities would need to be improved for a start.

What about the other tournaments in the region then? Just flying there for 1 TMS event doesn't make sense.

I've always thought that the South American events should be RG warm ups, one each week alongside Casablanca, Estoril etc.

They are played at the right time of the year weather wise.

In terms of the thread title to recap, I suggested it as it would improve his game. His ranking would fall a few places, but it would be beneficial in the long term.

He will be only playing for 2 more years and the indoor tournaments didn't want to know about him or even care that he plays here, he has played enough hardcourt tennis, don't make out he is like Berasategui on grass.

Lacks confidence on clay, lacks it on a hardcourt, the simple thing is that Nadal and Coria are better players.

The South American "gira" is good the way it is now. A AMS event here is never gonna happen. European, australian and north american players would be radically against it. With the exception of spaniards and italians, they hate to come down here.

Viva South America and I remember when they used to have Itaparica, Guaruja and Buzios at the end of the year along with Buenos Aires that it struggled.

The Anglo-Celtic bloc would be against it for sure, Davis Cup is the only time that those players play in South America, or they play there before they get really famous.

Gaudio should stick to South American events as rain is bound to stay wet!

Best of LUCK to ALL my Faves in 2015
