Valiant Effort by Hewie

Down two sets and after an absolute ridiculous number of foot-fault calls, he still battled back and broke Fed to win the 3rd set and was only broken once in the 4th, just as in the 1st. 2nd set was tight and fun to watch. Hewitt can certainly take many positives out of this. I couldn't be more proud of him. Great effort, good challenge to Fed.

That match just made me like Hewitt more and more... He never gave up in the match... So much determination... How can anyone not like him? I found myself rooting for him at one point even though I am a huge Federer fan at the same time.

Best I've seen Hewitt play against Federer for a long while. I think if he had come to net more in the 4th he would've given Federer some trouble.

Yeah, much better play from Hewitt than I expected. Pity he had to double-fault the match away in the 4th like that. Roddick should take notes - just because you lose every time is no reason to give up...
