Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

Doubles tennis is the biggest joke on earth. If it were up to me I would eliminate it and stop wasting everyone's time. We have had this discussion several times over the last few weeks and enough is enough.

Doubles tennis is stupid because:

1) It was invented by fat out of shape people who don't have the stamina to play alone on one side of the court

2) Would you watch Boxing Doubles? Enough said...

3) Who the hell wants to wait an extra 25 minutes to see their favorite singles player come on the court because they have to finish a bullshit doubles match.

4) Who watches it? Nobody...stop wasting our time.

5) If you can't play singles, get a life or go play another sport.

6) Doubles should be played in recreational parks only...by senior citizens or fat people.

I apologize in advance if I offended anyone with these comments but they are the truth. I know all the little kids will run and bad rep but I don't give a shit. Doubles is the biggest waste of time and the ATP would be smart to get rid of it and possibly expand the size of some tournaments.

Re: Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

No, I love doubles. Some of the best matches I have seen in the last two years have been doubles matches. It's part of tennis. Keep it.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

Why do people so often post really stupid shit and then proclaim it as the truth? Like, aren't there funnier way to start arguments and pose as a bad ass?

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Re: Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

For me, it wouldn't be a problem at all, because I dislike doubles, but I certainly don't think they should just eliminate it just because I don't like it.

Re: Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

It doesn't waste anybody's time if you don't watch the doubles matches. This is the stupidest post I've seen today. It's not like they cancel singles matches to show doubles, and doubles are hardly ever on TV anyway.
If you don't play tennis then that explains everything, but if you do then shame on you.

Re: Should the ATP Eliminate Doubles Tennis?

No, they shouldn't , Doubles may get less attention than singles, but it's not a reason, it's a class of the game,an important one i think,..they should get some ideas to draw some attention, more popularity to it..this may help..

No, certainly not! What will happen to things like Davis Cup and Hopman Cup, I know it is ITF but I think ATP need to keep doubles!
