Cool Roddick squashes the Mosquito 6-7(3) 7-6(5) 6-2

Yeeeeessssssss! Very well done Andy JCF gave him/us quite a scare for a while there (an inhuman 100% second serve in the first set ) . But he pulled if off. I don't know how but he did It's not everyday Andy does this now. He's struggled all summer and he's struggled here but he won and deserved to win. I'm so haappeeeeee

edit for cheesy title change

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Roddick downs JCF 6(3)-7, 7-6(5), 6-2

Another really good match, I gave JCF no chance at all and he almost pulled the upset. Great match lot of fight from Andy his fans should be happy.

JCF just laid down in the end, well atleast you are still better looking than Roddick

Re: Roddick outplays Ferrero 6-7(3) 7-6(5) 6-2

Great fight from Andy. But he proved once again that in order to play inspired tennis, he has to act like a jerk.

I started neutral when the match started. But as soon as I saw Andy acting like a prick on court, I hoped JCF would win the match. The commentator said it best, when Andy was haggling the umpire(" You are terrible etc"), "No, Andy you are terrible". I laughed when I heard that.

With that aside, its good to see roddick playing well.

Re: Roddick outplays Ferrero 6-7(3) 7-6(5) 6-2

I will tell you how Roddick did it, 7 aces in the second set, including one second serve ace in the tb, he started to get confident, his first serve percentage went up, Ferrero didn't even get a sniff in the second or third set. Roddick played the best he could tonight and he's only going to get better. I want to see him go far, I think a nice victory over Hewitt and then maybe over Fed in the final could be just what the doctor ordered for Andy.

Roddick is very fortunate to have won that 2nd set. And then he went up a level in the 3rd while Ferrero went away. Oh, you stupid choker.

Re: Roddick outplays Ferrero 6-7(3) 7-6(5) 6-2

Roddick has been struggling a bit this summer with the exception of winning in Indianapolis. I don't think he'll win this tournament, but he can get to the semis at least.

Go Federer, Nadal!!!

Wouldn't agree on the "outplays" part but he definitely outfought Ferrero in this match was nice to see. Sad for Ferrero but hopefully he'll retain a whole lot from this because he obviously played awesome.
