Re: Make no mistake, Rafa is favorite for Wimbledon

A man who has lost 5 of his last 7 grass court matches cannot in any way be called the favourite. At best he's behind Andy and Novak, and he's probably behind Roger too.

Federer fan, writer, tennis player.

Bookies have Nadal as 3rd fave, Nole 1, Muzz 2, Roger 4.

I expect another Djoko-Murray final

The best part of the OP's post is "focused Darcis".

Well. Nadal may indeed be the favorite. Which says a lot about this shit era

If Nadal gets to the second week he becomes the favourite. Murray's form is questionable, Djokovic is not comfortable on grass and Federer can lose to anyone these days (especially since he started to choke tiebreaks left and right).

Seconded.

RAFAEL NADAL and GRIGOR DIMITROV

Rafa winning at least one slam in 10 consecutive years is the best achievement in Open Era tennis since Laver won all 4 Grand slam tournaments in the same year!

Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!

Re: Make no mistake, Rafa is favorite for Wimbledon

Can we please take Halle out of the picture. The grass there is like the 90s Wimbledon. Very quick and low bounce.

In fact, Halle is much quicker than Queens which is much quicker than Wimbledon. And Wimbledon itself slows down significantly by the second week.

So the losses to Kohlschreiber and Brown should not be taken seriously. The losses to Rosol and Darcis should be. But, is Nadal bound to run into a hot server in the first week third time in a row? He's probably drawing some clay players and he'll survive the first week.

No one of the following players would beat him: Djoko (choking), Murray (not fit), Federer (old), Berdych (!!!), Wawrinka (can't move on grass), Tsonga (not in form).

Greatest of the tennis greats: Roger Federer

Amazing Dazzling Tennis: Wawrinka, Tsonga, JMDP, Dimitrov, Kohlschreiber

If he makes it to the QF he will win. No question. The danger is the first 4 rounds.
