fuck. Probably the best match of Raonic i've ever seen
I thought Milos played very well too, despite what some of the hating idiots here say. These fools hate what they consider pushers ,Novak or Nadal, but then they condem guys with big serves and hard hitters. Some people are impossible to please, unless it is their favorites.
djokovic's aggressive return..the way he over compensates against big servers is why think ferrer has the better return. When its on there's really nothing the big servers can do against ferrer
FWIW, I've never seen anybody return Milos' serve better than Murray did at the 2012 USO. Total GOAT return performance. He's never been able to match that against him since, though, so perhaps it was one time thing.
Raonic won't play any better than this on clay. Ever. Yet he wasn't able to win. Some choking involved from Djokovic in the 1st but at least he got it done in style
Another masters final and undefeated in Rome semifinals
He must improve for tomorrow though
Milos showed his inexperience in the second set tiebreaker he went for big shots when he should have maybe worked the point better. Novak won because Milos made errors in the second set tiebreaker he was VERY close to winning the match. It is pathetic and idiotic for people to call Milos a serve bot like many do on this board. Milos has improved his movement and his volleys and also his return. Milos needs to learn to play BETTER on the big points he had his chances to win this match in two sets.
This match proves that Raonic is not a servebot. He has a quality forehand
Milos has also improved his movement and backhand he hanged in the baseline rallies with Novak. This is the best I have ever seen Milos play. But the mental side needs to improve he went too big in the second set tiebreaker. I understand Milos had to game and be aggressive but if he had played a few points better he would have won this match!
"Best returner in the game". Struggles to beat servebots. Even on clay

The two most wonderful words missing in English language: Vamos Rafa!
Proud lover of the Dynamic Agile aggressive baseliner from Spain. BEST SHOT EVER: Rafa's Forehand. Anywhere. Anytime.
Very impressive performance by Milos this week in Rome. He outplayed Novak for a large portion of that match and it was really on his racket in the 2nd set TB there. He just doesn't truly have the belief yet to get a top win like this done, but the major breakthrough is getting closer and closer. Playing like this on slow clay against the world's best shows again what he's capable of when his mind is right.
If he can translate this play to RG in a few weeks, there's really no reason he can't make the R16 (which would be a career best result) or even a QF there.
Milos has improved a lot I am disappointed he lost because if he just was a bit mentally stronger he would have won the match. I felt at 3-2 in the second set tiebreaker was his shot to win. It is ludicrous people call him a serve bot Milos has superior groundstrokes than Isner. Milos has improved his movement but also transitioning and volleying too. The head needs to match the body this was a mental loss for Milos. Novak was under serious threat here hopefully Milos can learn from this loss.
"I don't give a rat's ass whether I'm playing a big or a small tournament. I'm Matwé Middelkoop, I go on that court and it doesn't matter who I'm facing. [...] Whether it's a blue court in Australia or a clay court in Morocco, I don't care."
