6th favourite behind Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, Ferrer and Wawrinka however he can beat at least three of those players on a good day and if the draw is kind to him and maybe a few of the higher ranked players suffer shock losses then yeah he could.

BIG FAN of Milos Raonic. Most exciting player to ever pick up a racket.

Re: Is Clayray the dark horse for the French?

I doubt his abilities to compete in a 5 set format on clay. Despite coming out half decently against Nadal, he was a mess by the 3rd set. Even halfling Ferrer outpushes him on clay 0-4

Re: Is Clayray the dark horse for the French?

He could certainly do very well if he plays like he did against Nadal...

Potential winner? Maybe...it'll be asking a lot from him though.

And no, he (Murray) is not overrated. He's technically a better grass player than Djokovic is.
Those three titles the Serb give him statistics on the surface than he does, considering he plays the same damn way he does on clay and still wins the title. Slow as fuck grass does that. It's the same for Nadal during 2006-11.

I wanna see him play a goating Wawrinka. I'm guessing three breadsticks for him.

Good Luck

Wawa goating rate is 25%, may be he'll be on top form at RG or may not. But this match is on Wawa's racquet Murrays form non factor when he faces Attacking player.

Re: Is Clayray the dark horse for the French?

He'd be a very, very dark-horse, but he could do well. He showed he can play excellent clay court tennis, but there's still a chance the best of five format might be a bit too soon. If he was playing like he did this week in Madrid, and still had Rome to consolidate his form, I'd be more optimistic.

Rlly? M. Youzny, Simon can play 5 excellent matches like Murray did in Rome in clay season. Murray's level of Tennis never matters especially on clay, he needs to depend on opponent ues rather than his skills to win first round matches lol.

And Don't forget Murray have 2* Better forehand since lendl but he rarely shows it, oh same for mental fortitude and his aggressive game.

Man everyone can play well but its consistency and level of play that Murray can only dream for. Heck even peak Rosol defats Nadal when he's on, nothing special in it if one loses straight 12 tournaments after winning slam.

Nadal and Djokovic better watch out.

A 20% Clayray almost defeated Nadal in Rome, I can only image what could happen if he's 100%.
