Re: Who is the worst matchup for Djokovic?

Federer in his prime is a nightmare for the Djokovic (even prime) game.

Novak is very fortunate he was not in the same generation as Roger. just look at the 2007/2008 or whatever US Open final where he got whooped by Roger

fortunately for Novak, by the time he reached his pinnacle level (what 2010 or 2011) Federer had began to decline both physically and mentally

in the end the best offensive play will >>>> beat the best defensive play

<3 Roger Federer <3 David Ferrer <3 Juan Martin Del Potro <3 Ernest Gulbis <3

------------------------ <3 Richard Gasquet <3

Rafael Nadal

Federer...........................even moving on a walker...Really, Roger does a number on him with that variety...Nole want to settle for robot exchanges but Federer suck him to think his shots more than anybody on the tour even at 33 year of age..

Re: Who is the worst matchup for Djokovic?

Unfortunately, I gotta say Federer. Their matches are always close. But it depends on what tournament it is too, as Djokovic hasn't been that convincing against Nadal in the grand slam tournaments. Then again, you could say the same about Federer. But overall, yeah, probably Federer troubles him the most.

Federer.

Even in Novak's best year, waning Fed beat him at RG and almost at USO.

Re: Who is the worst matchup for Djokovic?

Andy Murray should be there I think. Obviously,he schools Novak on grass, and is always a very tough match for him on hard as well. And he had 2011 Novak on the ropes in Rome semis

Yeah it's probably Murray, he pretty much neutralises Djokovic in all aspects.

whooped? you sure about that? they played 2 tiebreaks in 07 USO and nole was only 19 in his first slam final.

You said "nole was fortunate that when he reached his peak federer declined". wasn't federer also fortunate to face young nole in all those slams and not peak nole

Re: Who is the worst matchup for Djokovic?

The other members of the big 4 are the only bad matchups for Djokovic. The head to heads tells you who the worst is.

Nadal • Federer • Dimitrov • Wawrinka

Ferrer • Murray • del Potro • Tsonga • Raonic • Haas • Kohlschreiber • Verdasco • Monfils

Andy often runs him close but Novak still usually beats him. I still think Roger is a tougher matchup for Nole

OBJECTIVE AND UNBIASED NADAL FAN
NADAL= Excuses, bending the rules, fluke 2010, weak clay field, classless celebrations, lucky draws, first player to lose 3 consecutive GS finals to the same man, 3 consecutive losses to players ranked outside 100 at Wimbledon including injured Darcis, only beats injured or UE strewn Djoko or Fed, embarrassed by Stronga. VAMOS!

All big 4 are quite bad matchup for nole, add to him Delpo and Wawa. If I'd pick one it would definitely be ANdy. He straight-setted Novak on GS finals. The 2013 Wimby match was a one sided massacre.

When Andy is "on" Nole simply does not have answers to his game. The fed matches, specially post 2010 all have been quite tight between nole and fed.

2010-2011, advantage Djokovic. Fed - Djok 5-5.
2012-2014, large and obvious advantage Djokovic. Djok - Fed 6-4.

So we have six matches with Fed in a better age and 20 (so far) with Djokovic in a better age. Unless you prefer being 29 to 23. If so you'd have to explain that to me. Just look at how many slams are won by 23-year olds and how many by 29-year olds.
Took it from the Dubai thread, I just included the 2014 matches.
