Interesting how Nadal is starting to lose important matches and even random ones like this - even on clay. After last season maybe his mind is struggling because it will be difficult to have another year as successful as that?

From a non fanboy-ism perspective it's definitely noticeable how weak mentally Nadal seems now at times, doesn't seem that 'pumped' when he's losing as well. After being roasted by Djokovic I expected him to come here and at least get to the final.

Maybe clay season might be interesting for the first time in years. Well done Ferru.

I said the injury has not healed completely. This is expected. Lots of players carry residual effects from serious injuries or operations. Del Potro has never fully recovered from the wrist injury sustained in 2009 but he's been playing and easily beating the likes of Fed over the last couple of years. Obviously it's caught up with him now, unfortunately. You just need to manage your ailments the best way you can.

It was very deserved. No matter how good the quality was, Ferrer was clearly better.

Lol more lies coming from your side!

Del Potro has NEVER straight setted Federer... And over the last couple of years Fed beat him more times than he did...

Dull, on the other hand got BLASTED by Del Potro on a few occasions: USO 2009 and Shangaï 2013 come to mind...

The luckiest player to see DP out clearly is Dull! El Tio had his ways after he saw how easily DP dispatched the anti-tennis moonballer!

Proud supporter of El Tio , the greatest genius alive!

Alchimists transform iron into gold. Boriiiiiing!
Movie-makers transform dreams into reality. Yeah, whatever...
El Tio transforms Dull into a multiple GS champion! Daaaaamn!

El Tio has the keys to weather, court speed, draw making, umpires' decisions and perception of time between points, top players' fatherhood, and my libido!

This signature is in no way ironic. Please don't ever let El Tio think that, for my sake!

Del Potro had surgery on his right wrist in 2010. The problems this year were with his left wrist.

Re: Monte Carlo QF: [6] Ferrer def. [1] Nadal 7-6(1) 6-4

I have to comment those comments who are all about "horrible quality" etc.
It was surely not horrible quality!
Nadal vs. Ferrer is a tennis rivalry and match-up who always functions with not so much winners and more errors.
This is because both are better in defense and grinding than in offense or serve. This is a consequence of game styles, not of class/level of tennis.
You can not only read the statistics and then say it wasn't a good match... that is just a bad analysis.

The rallies in set 1 were very good in times, entertaining, both were solid and good in defense aspects.
Of course it was not very good tennis throughout but it was still far away from horrible.
W/UE ratios are not a 1:1 marker for good or bad level, that is not not true/not enough.

I didn't see the match but I hope Nadal's injury isn't too serious. Get well soon Rafa!

Rafa himself says that there's no injury but lack of confidence responsible for the loss and we still get these kinds of comments
