Gasquet Top Ten By End of Year or Much Sooner: Inevitable?

Barring some unforseen circumstance or an amazing drop in form when you look at the progress he has made in such a short space of time (already top twenty since being out of the top 100 pre Monte Carlo) and the relatively small amount of points to get there (around 200) and the fact he has virtually nothing of note to defend until clay next year - isn't it highly likely that Gasquet and Nadal will be firmly entrenched in the top 10 by year's end?

I think with a good Wimbledon that is a possiblity. since he has nothing to defend until about March-April of next year...

I hope so, but I doubt it.

That would be lovely, but I'm not too sure.

He definitely will have a chance if he stays consistent.

I would love to see that, but I think it might take awhile. I hope he proves me wrong.

i'm not saying it as a bias fan i just looked at the rankings. he seems very consistant these days and the points are not that much to make up.

We're already estatic that he's in the Top 20. If anyone had told me this at the beginning of the year, I wouldn't have believed him.

He's #14 on the list right now and only 32 race points away from #10. I think he'll be top 10 before the year is done.

I don't think it's inevitable, but he did amazingly well this year and I wish he'll continue to progress.

Well, a Wimbledon semi should get him into the Top 10. It's not *that* difficult to conceive, although probably not too likely.

Failing which, a good run on the North American hardcourts (esp the Masters series tournaments and the USO) or a couple of good runs at the indoor Masters should do it too.

So maybe...

Well, he is 14 in the race, and supposedly more of a clay-courter, but obviously proving that out-dated.
