Roddick-Grosjean

The first set has just finished. Andy won 6-4 after Grosjean double faulted twice trailing 4-5 and at deuce. This reminded me of yesterday when Andy beat Beck who also doublefaulted twice when he was trailing 4-5 in the third. It gave Roddick a matchpoint that he converted through an unforced error by Beck.
Is it luck, or an intimidation factor, or something else? What do you think?

17 (yes, yes, yes!) Slams! And counting....

Yeah! It is a very spectacular match. This match could go either way, not at all the ace-fest that we have seen many times from Roddick on grass.

Re: Roddick-Grosjean

Somebody should pay Roddick to stop playing tennis, this match was a reminder to me as for how ugly his game is, and Grosjean - great choking on key moments - you look perfectly happy with being Roddick's bitch...

What, you mean he's capable of winning matches other ways than just serving well???? Unthinkable!

I can't believe that the vbookie gave out .29 odds for Roddick since he's beaten Grosjean here so easily so many times. He also beat the hell out of him on clay in Houston. I hope it's a Hewitt/roddick final.

He only hit 6 aces and won 78% of his 1st serve points which is below average for him so he must've been doing something other than serving huge.

LOL, Deb.

Anyhoo, congrats to Andy on getting past Seb. I was worried about the froggy.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

But NYC, you just made a hefty profit.
What are you complaining about?

And I was hoping for the same match-up in the final, but that lanky grass court specialist has officially anointed himself as the potato peeler of June and July.
