Re: Safin def. Popp 6-3 6-2

Unfortunately Alexander made it way too easy for Safin in this match with so many unforced errors and crappy shots. I had high hopes in him he would play better than this crappy performance Looked like a shadow of former times compared to what I've already seen of him on the grasscourts

I hope Popp will regain some grasscourt strength soon

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Safin def. Popp 6-3 6-2

That's his first grasscourt win since 2002.

Too bad he'll probably get Santoro in the next round and then Olivier Rochus after that (if he survives round 2!).

I saw the match too and I really was cheering for Safin, but Neely is right, it was just an awful performance of Popp, Safin wasn't very impressive.

(And Safin's knee injury didn't 't look good at all. He touched his knee a few times with a worried face.)

Re: Safin def. Popp 6-3 6-2

That's a nice win for Marat. I hope his knee is okay and he has a nice grass court season.

I hope Denise brings Marat some good luck again like in Oz.

And LOL at Vass.

Egalite!

Well done.

And Marat said at RG that the knee tendonitis is permanent, he'll be playing with it till the rest of his career.

Re: Safin def. Popp 6-3 6-2

Forget my posting, Denise, it sounded way too negative. I was worried because of his knee and I found he didn't move very well today for example. But of course he was not so bad, otherwise he wouldn't have won 6-3 6-2. He just controlled the match and didn't have to raise his level today.
