How many times will Rafa win Roland Garros?

Vote in the above poll; let's see if people on this message board agree with John McEnroe about Nadal's winning streak at RG.

from The Telegraph

Nadal ready to dominate on clay
By John McEnroe
(Filed: 05/06/2005)

. . . . after defeating the world's No 1 Roger Federer I see no reason why he shouldn't win this particular slam four or five times. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't win at least three French Opens in his career.

. . . . . .

I'm not sure I subscribe, though, to the view that Federer has just missed his last opportunity of completing his set of grand slam titles because that is like saying that Nadal for the foreseeable future will never lose in Paris.

. . . . . .

The wider implications of Nadal's defeat of Federer is good news for tennis because I think it makes for the best chance the game has of building that great rivalry it so desperately needs.

. . . . . .

I keep saying it but he just reminds me so much of Boris Becker in the physicality that he brings to tennis. There is a terrific energy and enthusiasm about his play that is going to make him popular wherever he plays. After winning his first Wimbledon title Becker just believed in himself that much more and that's bound to be the case with Nadal, too. He struts his stuff just like Becker did and loves laying it on the line as the German did. And then there is the frightening prospect, at least for his opponents, that he may well get even stronger physically

. . . . . .

I think he definitely has the physical and mental game to win another FO. Beyond that, I think it is difficult to predict because he is still maturing and it is quite possible that adulthood may bring with it supreme confidence or shaky self-belief especially if he has to defend his win.

If he doesn't get injured, at least 3.

If he does, you never know how that will really impact him.

We will see how Hewitt bounces back on the grass.

Gasquet is on the path to improving substantially next year on clay.

And this Cilic guy seemed impressive in the Jr. tourney.

Re: How many times will Rafa win Roland Garros?

Its kind of foolish to predict anything like that right now. Claycourters suffer from high injury rates. In fact, didnt he have to miss the last 2 RG's before this one to bad injuries?? 'Sides there are a lot of other guys who have the potential to knock him out.

MY FAVES: Coria, Nalbandian, Canas, FOXY Ferrero, Guga, Grosjean, Costa, Juan Monaco.
