All I was saying is clay isn't his favorite surface now so bringing up an article from 3 years ago is stupid.

and last but not least Murray thrives on his opponents power ! and his swings are short and rely on timing ... THE END/FIN/KONEC ! Deal with it you low tennis IQ-ers
I'd say Ferrer is more of a bigger counterpuncher than Murray, and he does well on clay

Re: Explanation for Murray ineptitude on clay???

He did not grow up on clay, that's a misconception. He spent 2 years in Barcelona. He grew up on hard courts.

With his movement being one of his key strengths, he doesn't do well on clay, because he is unable to slide into his shots. His forehand is also not potent enough to hit through the court on a regular basis. Obviously, confidence goes a long way as well.

Re: Explanation for Murray ineptitude on clay???

Poor movement in contrast with how he is on HCs/grass. Inability to generate many winners. Poor building of points and indecision about where to defend/attack (because his usual counter-punching isn't as effective).

Ferrer's a natural mover on clay and is superior at dictating points on the surface.

It's possible to enjoy the challenge of a surface, for example I enjoy clay courts the most even if my own best play comes on grass.

Are you dumb? I realize I made a mistake but that's not the point. The point is that Andy's favorite surface now is not clay so bringing up something from the past is pointless.

You have much of the teen angst that another high-profile Murray fan here is known for.

It's not like any of your other posts have any more substance, so you have to forgive him for being confused.

well obviously but I'm pointing out that you can enjoy a surface more even if you aren't as effective on it
