With the young generation being even more useless than him on clay, it's likely

I wouldn't ever rule out Andy to win ANY event, even clay ones. It may not be his best surface but it does not change the fact he is one of the best players in the world and if he is playing his best he is very difficult to stop.

I thought even he might accept that Murray is useless on clay.

He's going to need a super cakewalk draw. Has to avoid tons of players.

Re: Will Andy "Clayray" Murray ever reach a clay final?

Depend on draw. With any decent players on clay he won't..
But he'll get lucky, like he did with that USO.

True but some clay points, no matter how small they are, is better than no clay points.

Did I say he earned points? No. But 9/10 he defends his Clay points. What would the point in him not playing clay tournaments and having no points at all over a 2 month period? It'd totally ruin his ambitions to become world number 1.

The old man will learn how to hit a proper topspin backhand return before Mugray makes a clay court final.

Re: Will Andy "Clayray" Murray ever reach a clay final?

Murray looked pretty good in Rome 2011, during Novak's formidable year.

Of course he can do it but it will not depend just on him.

I don't expect neither Rafa nor Novak to take both Madrid & Rome. They will both focus on RG.

Thus I give Murray close to zero chance in RG, but he has some chances in other tournaments.
