Re: Will Murray always suck on clay? Is there anything he can do?

Serra has the same attributes Serena does, and the fact is, he would obliterate Serena Williams. I think he would lose a couple of games, because he can't keep balls in court consistently, and he's easy to ace, but he would absolute dominate her in rallies overall. It's simply not reasonable or relevant to compare WTA players to ATP players. I am a Serena fan, but let's get real. Exhibitions aren't the real thing.

Re: Will Murray always suck on clay? Is there anything he can do?

I'm sure almost everyone here has heard of the beat down Karsten Braasch, ranked outside the top 200 in the ATP, put on the Williams sisters in 1998. Granted they were still just starting out (but Venus has already reached a USO final). Braasch allegedly smoked a pack of cigarettes and played 18 holes of golf before playing them and beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2, with minimal effort.
I think we sometimes underestimate women's tennis on MTF because we just compare them to the men. No point in comparing the female players to the male players, the game is just so much different. But we should instead appreciate that it is really better than any other female sport. Well, this thread has gotten of track...

No, one day murray will not suck on clay. I sincerely believe one day he will suck on a lollipop.

Re: Andy Murray, favourite surface: CLAY... Is he kidding?

It's not a joke, he hasn't lost on this surface for almost a year, he has fond feelings about it.

Favourite because it's least stressful on his dodgy knee I think.

Re: Andy Murray, favourite surface: CLAY... Is he kidding?

He just enjoys the surface. Even if results arent good, for now.

So I was recently informed that my signature was empty and needed a life affirming quote from an inspirational figure like Shakespeare or Oscar Wilde...

When I die my mates had better not tweet some cheesy crap like I'm watching over them or some jazz. Watch your train-wreck lives? I'll take my chances in hell.

Re: Andy Murray, favourite surface: CLAY... Is he kidding?

Clearly that's a couple of years out of date - he used to say that back in 2006.

Nowadays he says hard although he has occasionally said grass, just to make sure nobody really has a clue
