Davidenko and Puerta - at YEC?

Both already have 364 points in the race.. If Puerta wins, that's practically automatic for him.. But even if not.. The qualifying amount will be below 500 points.. They won't need much at all .. They are practically there..

So what do we have?

Federer and Nadal are there. Safin will get there on a Grand Slam wildcard. Davidenko and Puerta are practically there.. 3 place left.. And that's with Hewitt, Roddick, Agassi and Coria not listed..

Re: Davidenko and Puerta - at YEC?

Your numbers are inaccurate, Puerta (as for now) has 254 race points, while Davydenko has 314.

My bet: Davy will be this year's Schuettler at TMC, for exceptionally consistent results, while Puerta will be left out.

I'd rather wait those extra 5 seconds seeing those boobies bounce than watching some fatass kid burn away his bigmac meal.

No way is Puerta going.

Coria might not if he doesn't play clay after grass.

If Puerta wins tomorrow, it will be between him and Safin for the Grand Slam wildcard. Now that could get interesting

Re: Davidenko and Puerta - at YEC?

Too early to tell, but Puerta probably won't make it. I also have doubts about Davydenko, he can turn off for a couple of weeks/months and hardly get any points. And of course someone might make a run at Wimbledon or the US Open and jump right in the top 8.

Re: Davidenko and Puerta - at YEC?

I don't believe Davydenko is a fluke - he will be in the top 8 at the end of the year for sure. He can't play on grass to save his life and I doubt he will win a single match during the brief grass season but he is fine on both indoor surfaces and hardcourts and given his current form I expect more good results from him later in the year.

Puerta might just squeak in but he will have to find some non-clay wins from somewhere in all likelyhood and that might prove tough.

:retard:

Do you really believe they choose the WC by tossing a coin or by personal preference...?

The one ranked higher will play TMC

Re: Davidenko and Puerta - at YEC?

If Puerta doesn't wins at RG there's no way to see him at the YEC. Once the claycourt season ends that's the end of the road to Shanghai for him. Probably he will finish the year as top 20 though.
About Davydenko he is more versatile than Puerta but I don't see him finishing better than 5 or 6 dudes who are behind him in this moment.

Puerta will be ranked 11 in the entry rankings on Monday assuming he loses the final. Were he to win he would move up to number 8. As he played on the challenger curcuit last year he doesnt have many points to defend either. He does have a real chance to finish the season in the top 10. I'm sure he will be playing half a dozen or so clay events after the grasscourt season so he will be able to add some points to his total too. But yes getting into the top 8 assuming he doesn't win on Sunday will require a few hardcourt wins as well. It will be close. I predict a finish between 8 and 10.

Davydenko will finish in the top 8 for sure unless he is injured or goes on a terrible winless tear.
