Paul-Henri Mathieu def Feliciano Lopez 6-2 6-0 6-7(5) 6-4

Was up 6-2 6-0 5-2, and then did the routine chokejob. Broke back to force the tiebreak and led 4-0 there but lost it 5-7. All in all, typical Paulo match.

Ventura or Guccione next. GWH is half correct so far.

Well done PHM, he could be one hell of a dark horse this year.

I wonder if Deivid will come by to celebrate this, or he's still mourning for Verdasco...

So much for John Weirthem being correct. Even I can't see this pick as I picked Mathieu to win on my bracket. He has just been in bad form especially on clay this year.

he must be playing with a vengeance, wondering where he got lost in all this French hoopla about Monfils and Gasquet

Paulo is a star! And to be fair, he's not been as bad with his nerves recently. It also showed great character to come back and win the 4th set. Good draw, faces Guccione for a place in round 3.

Fucking brilliant LaLo, he lost 14 games in a row I´ve been said lol

About Verdasco´s performance, I´ll bump that thread tomorrow when arriving home. Nothing surprising coming from him, anyway.
