Re: Ferrer doesn't think he can win slam

IF Ferrer worked on finishing at the net and worked on his backhand he'd do a lot better with a little more belief

Melania Trump who is not qualified to shine Michelle Obama's shoes might very well be the first semi-literate AND vapid First Lady of the US

Mug era indeed.
Yeah, considering all the slams former top 5 players like James Blake, Nikolay Davydenko, Fernando Gonzalez, Ivan Ljubicic, David Nalbandian and Tommy Haas have won. Oh wait, they have two slam finals combined. But they believed they could do it, right? Especially at 31. Oh, wait.

This reminded me of something Wawrinka said this week. Apparently Stan said he would rather win the Davis Cup than a Grand Slam

Well, people would be giving him hell if he said he can win a Slam.

I don't get how anyone can dislike this guy. Hard worker and down to earth.

Re: Ferrer doesn't think he can win slam

I think he could have a shot at a hard court slam if he plays well and avoids Djokovic and Federer, and the same at RG if he avoids Federer and Nadal. He can take out Djokovic at RG if he plays well enough IMO and same with Nadal at AO and USO. I agree its a long shot though.

Ferru being Ferru, super humble (and probably realistic) as always
I don't understand how anyone can dislike such a genuine sportsperson

Ferrer saying Federer is going to have better results - bouncing back into Top 4 form. I defenitely expect this and agree Winning a slam is totally different.

Fezz is still a class act. I'm anticipating one last big push to get that deserved slam at RG this year.

Re: Ferrer doesn't think he can win slam

Ferrer ought to be ashamed of himself. He is right there with all of those guys, if he only had some more belief and a more solid net game, he could win a slam.

Re: Ferrer doesn't think he can win slam

Johnny. Are you for real mate? You feel if Ferrer could close off rallies with coming to the net to put away vollies, that it would make all the difference in him becoming grandslam champion? What about a serious weapon? Rafa, Andy, Novak and Roger all have their weapons, Ferrer's forehand is not devastating enough to help him in particular situations. It's now at a point by which if either of those 4 play to a good level, Ferrer can do nothing about it.

What is happening during christmas? Even the usually sensible posters are making stupid remarks?
