Djokovic hires Boris Becker as his new head coach

Quote:
Boris Becker will join Novak Djokovic's coaching team in the new year.

Becker will become Djokovic's new head coach, replacing Marian Vadja, who will remain part of the set-up.

The world number two, who will defend his Australian Open title next month, was defeated in the Wimbledon and US Open finals by Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal this year.

Perhaps impressed by Ivan Lendl's effect on Murray's game, Djokovic has recruited three-time Wimbledon champion Becker.

Becker has primarily worked as a pundit since he retired from tennis in 1999, and commentated on both of Murray's Grand Slam wins for Sky Sports and the BBC.

The German won six majors, including two Australian Opens and a US Open, but is best known for his Wimbledon win as a 17-year-old in 1985.

I repeat, this is about Novak, not Marko or Djordje

I'm assuming he is hiring Becker for net game solely. Don't see any other reason why he would make this decision?

If you have an issue with a report/infraction, a user, a moderator or just want to talk, PM me.

I support Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Del Potro.

Why? Because I love tennis plain and simple

Novak with Boris. Andy with Lendl. Roger has been training in Dubai with Edberg. Rafa is the only one who relies on Tio Toni alone - doesn't need these guys from the 80s helping him.

Novosti.rs confirmed that Boris Becker is new head coach of Novak Djokovic and Marian Vajda remains in the coaching staff
Vajda alos said he needs more time for his family etc.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

I already declared him the GOAT commentator in 2011:

Boris Becker is the GOAT commentator.

U wot m8?

I didn't see this one coming. Good thing Novak decided to separate himself from Marian Vajda, this hooligan. Boris Becker is a great commentator, we'll be left with little no good commentators!

Boris has an ulterior motive. He wants to make sure that Novak won't surpass his grandslam tally. What better way to accomplish this then being his coach? This is the end of Novak.

Rafael Nadal - The Greatest of All-Time

14 grandslams - Olympics Gold - 4 davis cups - 27 masters 1000 - 67 overall titles
Career Golden Grandslam - Most titles at one grandslam - At least 2 slams on each surface
10 consecutive years with a slam title - Slams on clay, grass and hard in same year
3 year end no.1 finishes -141 weeks at no.1
9-2 in slams vs Federer - 9-4 in slams vs Djokovic

One could only imagine what his totals would be if it weren't for his many setbacks/injuries. Truly an icon.

You sure like to convince yourself. But you're lonely in your boat - and it's about to sink.
