So far it's Roddick I didn't count Del Potro because he is still active and he will achieve more

Here are some stats

Well done, those stats show how unclutch roddick was in big matches 29 QF/SF and only 6 finals.

He was probably the best on the list, but I was forced thru north american coverage to watch him at every major, and always see him look good early, and crash in qf/sf, was like deja vu, over and over again!
Also 37-73 versus top 10 is telling why so many qf/sf losses.

He didn't play 29 QF/SF, the quarterfinals are the total of that 19 quarterfinal he advance 10 times and then 5 finals but only 1 title

Roddick was a great player
Roddick is hugely underrated on this forum and in general
Roddick is a prime example of a great player under-performing although much of this was the fault of Federer
What?

Didn't you noticed I said "achievements aside"?

What does Roddick has on Del Potro beside the serve? I'm all ears.

Roddick was a one ball bash wonder. Nothing more, nothing less. Very overrated with a limited talent.

People are loving roddick up because he was the latest to retire. He's wack.

Roddick's only memorable achievement is being the player with the biggest amount of sweat dropped on court.

I'd say that Nalbandian tops him here.

Re: Who is the greatest player in the Open Era with one Grand Slam?

It's either Ivanesevic or Roddick. Both were unlucky to play in the same era as two of the greatest grass players of all time. Luckily Goran met Tim 'Glorious Failure' Henman bearing gifts to win his deserved Wimbledon title. The American didn't get such luck, unfortunately.

It has to be one of Roddick or Chang. Heart says Ferrero, but injuries fucked with his career.

Feliciano López is the man

Re: Who is the greatest player in the Open Era with one Grand Slam?

Well, to me it is between Ivanisevic, managing to win W in the era of Sampras and Del Potro, managing to win USO in the era of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
