What Fed haters can't begin to wrap their heads around is the pain of having been the greatest ever
and then beginning to lose your powers. Federer, the rightful god of tennis for all eternity, has been dragged from Olympus to suffer among mortals. A modicum of denial, delusion, or grieving is only natural.
Fed haters don't get it.
Some just live in a gray world of monotony, enthralled by doltish tennis, unable to understand beauty and light. They could never see his greatness.
Others have some grasp of the scope of his gift, but are slaves to bitterness, resentment, hate, and anger. They feel only schadenfreude, and cannot grasp why anyone would feel genuine sadness over Federer's decline - or why Federer himself would struggle to understand the gravity of what has been stolen from him.
Long story short, Federer is the Prometheus of tennis, and unfeeling predators like Kiedis are the eagles who peck and bite his chained body.
