Duck vs. Verdasco -- an instant classic

i can't believe how many times the Tennis Channel has re-played that match between Roddick and Verdasco -- the one in which Roddick gave Verdasco the call on matchpoint and then went on to lose the match. it's become an instant classic. people will talk about it for years to come -- if the TTC has anything to do with it!

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

LOL! I'm sure people are sick of that one. Every time it starts raining at the OPen, you know what's coming.

Do they play that alot on the Tennis Channel? I saw that when I was a kid live on TV!!! It was fun to watch as a spectator, but in retrospect that was a huge show of gamesmanship on Connors part. Poor Aaron, always injured and never got to the top of his potential. I remember once he was crippled by of all things, diarrhea, before a big match.

The 'duck' nickname is killing me with laughter.

They probably want Lacoste to run ads on their network so they are hyping Andy. And it doesn't hurt that he's popular with the much desired 18-24 demographic.

Re: Duck vs. Verdasco -- an instant classic

This match will be the turning point in tennis history, it needs a man of the stature of the Duck for this to happen and this incident and replaying it consistently will do very well for his promotion of the Nobel Prize Man of the Year. The only thing is when he collects the Prize I wonder if the sneakers will be there with the suit?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

This is pathetic, most people probably think by now that Roddick is giving his games away out of sporstmanship, not bc he sucks on clay.

I also noticed how he warned Verdasco about playing with new balls on 8th game, how classy!

Re: Duck vs. Verdasco -- an instant classic

I think roddick's match gets shown so much cos he is the top ranked American player and tennis channel is in America. For all the people who hate that the match is being reshown, I bet lots of people are watching it and enjoying it.
