If Delpo wants a MS1000 Paris is where he'll get it !!

Everyone knows that all the top players that have already qualified for WTF will tank here most likely and I know Delpo will have to tank somewhere(probably here) to be fit and ready for WTF(which I agree he should do). But if he wants to win a ms1000 Paris is the one to go for as it's a good surface for him and top players will tank, its mostly there(Didn't Ferrer win this last year)

Wawrinka Goffin Djokovic Paire Thiem Coric Dreddy Mannarino Nishikori [B]Gulbis[/B ]Zverev Delpo

Not happening. It's mostly his haters who are obsessed over whether he has a M1000 or not, Juan is not. Like he did last year, expect him to prioritize WTF.

Pushing the top players to the limit like he did in IW and here >>>> winning a Masters against randoms in a depleted field.

If there was a week between them it's a realistic goal but expect him to lose to Llodra again or something in order to prioritise WTF.

Don't think Djokovic will tank. He seems ready and fit. And this is the last place where he can gain points on Nadal, after this he has to defend 3500 points from WTF and AO, while Nadal defends none. And after that (for him) comes Dubai where he also defends the title. Last chance for him to get some ground on Nadal before IW.

Djokovic | Tipsarevic | Querrey

Paris is the place for first (and often only) M1000 winners. All these players won their only M1000 (to date) in Paris:

Berdych (2005)
Tsonga (2008)
Soderling (2010)
Ferrer (2012)

MTF is the only place where pushing top players and never winning anything is rated over actually winning big titles

The problem with not tanking Paris is that it'd mean having to play 10 matches in two weeks, more than half of them vs top 10 players if you want to win WTF. Maybe Djokovic and Nadal can physically cope with that - although even for them it can't be easy - but the more human players need to prioritize WTF if they want to have any shot there.

Bercy's schedule is simply absurd, no idea what the ATP was thinking. Do they want two players fighting for the last WTF spot playing the final or something?

Quality should always be rated over quantity. del Potro's Indian Wells run this year for instance will always be more memorable than a lot of Masters titles, including your favorite's No way would winning Bercy by beating two mugs be better.

No one besides Nadal, Murray and Djokovic have won anything resembling a 'big title' this year.

This was because of Nadal and Djokovic complaining the season was too long. But next year it's back to normal.

Will be interesting to see what happens this year, there are some fights in the rankings that may lead to less tanks than last year. Nole and Nadal fighting for #1, but I think Nadal won't give 100% if he is forced to do so in order to win a given match, better to be as fit as possible for one of his best chances of ever winning WTF. Federer/Tsonga/Wawrinka/Raonic need the points, but qualifications will be assured as the rounds go by. Berdych might tank it if he's serious about winning WTF since on the rankings he is at a safe spot. DelPo might tank it as well, although doing as good as possible in Paris will boost his chances of climbing up to #4 or #3.

And DelPot won the remaining 500s.

Good news.

That said, this year's event could be pretty interesting imo. Would be cool to see Tsonga, Wawrinka, Raonic and Federer fight for the title and WTF spots, with lower ranked players in the mix too. Would be a nice change of pace.

Maybe ATP want people on cusp of WTF to go all-out in Paris, arrive in London dog-tired, get beaten easily by the big boys who already qualified/tanked early in Paris.

Just trying to make it easier for the big 4 to stay at the top.
