Great match. I am so happy Novak did it again.

He deserved it.

He had 47 winners vs Del Potro's 34.

10 aces vs 5 of Delpo.

“Does Djokovic resemble myself?” Agassi said. “No, he is even better. He defends really well, while I struggled more in that element of the game. Novak looks totally relaxed when defending, completely calm and the quality of his return is incredible. He is also extremely flexible in his game, which is facilitated by his ability to anticipate his rival’s moves. That is why I think he is a much more versatile player than I was and he is also much more athletic.”

Having a competitive spirit means you're a terrible human being? Boy, I hope you never watched McEnroe or Connors.

excellant match

It is absolutely amazing to see matches on a fast court . To all those people who said fast court tennis is just aces , this match is a perfect example of the contrary and why we should have fast courts

Bad for the game.
Just a typical comment from someone who not saw the match probably.

Djokovic hit many winners, especially with his backhand. And of course you can't play more offensive than Del Potro from the baseline but that match was not like "pusher" vs. "hard hitter" but just between two elite players who played very very fine - even Del Potro's defense and Djokovic's offense were world class.

A classic match with a brillant Djokovic in Set 1 and a stunning Del Potro in set 2.

Stop watching tennis if that's not enough for you!

It was nowhere near a choke from any player, Del Potro was just very clutch in two service games (one in 2nd set at 0-40 and one in 3rd set at 4-5 at 15-40, facing two match points.)

Great match and great match-up. Quality final with a few breathtaking rallies.

Delpo Hopefully you'll lose another final to Novak in Paris after winning Basel. YE #3 hopefully

Novak Can he win the last 22 matches of the year to win Beijing, Shanghai, Paris, WTF and Davis Cup? Let's hope so. Don't tank Paris again please.

Great 3rd set. Congrats Nole. That's more like it.

Terrific 3 weeks from Del Potro. Keep plugging away.

Because Djokovic is a better defender, Del Potro can't hit as many winners.

Seriously, people need to stop pretending: more winners = more aggressive

Just too many errors from Potro in the second half of the 3rd set.

Re: Shanghai F: Djokovic breadsticks Del Potro 6-1, 3-6, 7-6

Good fight from DelPo after a lousy first set but Novak is just a fucking machine on courts like this and only DelPo's incredible clutchness kept him in it throughout that third. Nole's serve in particular was outstanding. This will be tough for Juan. For a player of his mental fortitude he's lost a remarkable number of really close big matches, RG 09, Montreal 09, Olympics 12, IW 13, Wimb 13 and now this with that US Open final the only exception really.
