This..Wawrinka-Anderson 6-4 3-6...5-6 third set and they hit 13 and 18 aces respectively..that is best-of-5 matches ratio numbers..Balls are whizzing past the court..It is really fast down here..

Re: Court-speed Shanghai vs Beijing

IIRC Murray said last year that Shanghai court is quick but they use heavy balls, so it ends up feeling medium, whereas Tokyo is slower court but light balls.
(Or vice versa).

the low bounce in Beijing was clear....its not just about the speed.. its a combination of fast court and low bounce.....I played once on a PLASTIC suface and the ball stayed VERY LOW..... it was a joke.....

Re: Court-speed Shanghai vs Beijing

At the beginning of the Nadal match the international feed announcers said Shanghai was faster than Beijing and nearly as fast as Tokyo, which they said was one of the fastest on the tour these days.

Agassi | Nadal
Almagro | Coria | Ferrer | Haas | Nalbandian | Nishikori | Robredo | Wawrinka
Bautista Agut | Bellucci | Blake | Dimitrov | Dodig | Ferrero | Fognini | Gasquet | Hewitt | Kohlschreiber | Murray | Raonic | Rosol | Seppi | Tsonga | Tursunov | Verdasco

Re: Court-speed Shanghai vs Beijing

The ball seems to bounce higher in Shanghai which is detrimental to Djoker's chances. Nadal is clearly the favorite when the bounce is higher.

Exactly. The speed of the court doesn't matter nearly as much as the height of the bounce when it comes to Nadal.
