Sometimes, I am really surprised how the same issue, albeit in minor variation, can be discused over and over again.

Re: Peak Federer vs. peak Nadal at the US Open

nadal wd b lucky to win 10 games if its played on pre 2010 usopen surface.

If cheating was allowed, nadal might just win a set.

Pre-2010 Love how it suddenly changed the year Nadal won it.

Peak Fed would only beat Peak Nadal on grass/indoors
so that baby nadal who was ranked at #2 all that time didn't even succeeded to make semi final on that court but would have beaten guy who was winning it for 5 straight years.

Its pretty clear they slowed it down massively that year, theres a reason why nadal never managed to reach us open final before 2010.

Outdoor hardcourt= huge decisive edge to Rafa

Just look at their matchup and H2hs on outdoor Hardcourts, really no contest- history tells the story. Beating Fed at his peak ...,been there, done that- over and over no less...lol

Obviously Federer at his very best would win. Probably wouldn't even be that close.

What is peak Nadal? The buttpicking is more firm? The waterbottle placed with perfect precision?

People here told me that the US Open surface was slowed down in 2009 but was made faster in 2010
As far as court speed is concerned, people see what they want to see and what fits in their narrow-minded picture.

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Simon - Berdych - Dimitrov - Chardy

Re: Peak Federer vs. peak Nadal at the US Open

Federer is obviously more likely to win the tournament. Peak Federer won the tournament 4 times (discounting 2008). Peak Nadull has won it once or twice, depending on whether this is still his peak. Federer is a far greater player at the US Open.

In a match between them, however, Nadal will always have a good shot on an outdoor hard court, & judging by their H2H, a decisive edge.

Does this really need a thread?

Best post so far.

Rafa has a decisive edge if it's a one-on-one face off.If it's a tournament though,Fed has the better shot.

Re: Peak Federer vs. peak Nadal at the US Open

Kid Nadal already was defeating him on slow-medium HC in 2006, I don't see how replacing him with the full grown player can not favor him. Really, their rivalry numbers are pretty clear, Nadal owns him. Roger can be the better vs. the rest of the field, but he really suffers vs Nadal.

Nadal career prediction: 6 RG, 2 Wimbledon, 1 Australian Open, 1 US Open, 2 Master Cup, 20 Master Series, 65 titles.
(Predicted before RG 2008 when he had 3xRG)
