Re: Peak Federer vs. peak Nadal at the US Open

No need for poll. Roger in 3 easy sets.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Nadal def Federer 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, 6-2

Sent from Verticalsports.com Free App

Rafael Nadal - The Greatest of All-Time

14 grandslams - Olympics Gold - 4 davis cups - 27 masters 1000 - 67 overall titles
Career Golden Grandslam - Most titles at one grandslam - At least 2 slams on each surface
10 consecutive years with a slam title - Slams on clay, grass and hard in same year
3 year end no.1 finishes -141 weeks at no.1
9-2 in slams vs Federer - 9-4 in slams vs Djokovic

One could only imagine what his totals would be if it weren't for his many setbacks/injuries. Truly an icon.

Re: Peak Federer vs. peak Nadal at the US Open

It depends what you consider to be each player's peak - and that is a circular argument that will continue to lack any resolution.

For what it's worth though, as Federer is the more successful player over a number of years on HC, I would go for him at his best. Just. But it would be very close, due to his biggest weakness playing to Nadal's biggest strength.

I think Nadal might nick this match up, though Federer is probably the US Open's greatest ever.

Despite the match-up issue, Peakerer playing his best would have this on his racquet. But it would be very tight, probably with them sharing wins.

Federer in close 4 sets. He can't get used to dull's anti-tennis moonballing throughout his career, but it doesn't change the basic fact that he's much better on fast court than dull.

2008 Peak dull might stand a chance to take it to 5 sets, since 2008 dull can moonball for 5 hours. 2013 HC dull stands no chance against peak Federer because he can't beat Roger on one-two punch nor short rallies.

Federer in 3

Maybe 4 sets if Dull uses gamesmanship effectively

The Penultimate Enemy to all Injustice

Federer was the pioneer of first-strike all-court tennis. This is the real tennis and the beautiful game. Never forget the beauty of what was tennis. Nadull and Fakervic don't win tennis matches. They simply outlast their opponent with endless grinding and stamina. That is ugly. Beautiful tennis is gone now. Never forget the good days of real tennis.

All those picking Federer are a joke. So if your life was on the line you would pick Federer? Knowing that Rafa is 7-2 on outdoor hardcourts and 8-2 in slams? Please. Most of you wouldn't even bet 1$ on Fed.

Federer would win more often than not, but it would definitely be close. Something like 11-9 Federer if they were to play 20 times.
